Spring (March to May)March - May
Enjoy the pink of cherry blossoms, the white snow-covered corridors, and the vibrant, spring-like highlands.
Hachimantai Snow Corridor
Every mid-April, the snow is cleared from the road leading to the summit of Hachimantai, forming snow walls on both sides. This snow corridor is several meters deep and stretches over 25 kilometers! With spring behind you, explore the snowy landscape near the summit! Visit in early May to witness a world that transforms from cherry blossoms to snow walls in just minutes. The Single Cherry Tree of Kamifuku Makino
The solitary cherry tree at Kamifuku Makino stands beautifully against the backdrop of Mount Iwate, still covered in snow. If you're here from early to mid-May, this is not to be missed!
Hachimantai Dragon Eye
From late May to mid-June, when the snow melts at Kagami Pond near the summit of Mount Hachimantai, the deep, transparent blue water reflecting off the white snow is not only exceptionally beautiful, but in recent years it has become famous for resembling a dragon's eye. Hiking
The scenery of Hachimantai is rich and diverse, with numerous excellent hiking routes traversing part of Towada-Hachimantai National Park. Mount Iwate can be climbed via three distinct routes. Along the way, you can enjoy waterfalls, rare alpine plants, and volcanic landscapes. Camping overnight at a mountain lodge is also recommended. Stroll around the summit of Hachimantai and enjoy the flowers blooming in the rare alpine wetlands. The diversity and possibilities found here are world-class.

Whether you're a beginner or a veteran, whether you want to challenge yourself on a mountain bike in the mountains or cycle along roads through idyllic scenery, Hachimantai has something for everyone to enjoy! Autumn (September to November)

Hachimantai is beautiful in every season, but come autumn, the entire mountain transforms into a vibrant tapestry of colors, making it the most enjoyable season for hiking.
At Mitsuishi Mountain, the slopes begin turning crimson as early as September. The view from the summit in September is unforgettable! Low-growing trees blanket the slopes in deep red in every direction. This enjoyable course starts from Matsukawa Onsen, so after a 3─4 hour hike, you can relax in the open-air baths.
Golden Carpet Surrounding Hachiman Pond
Ascending the Hachimantai Aspite Line toward the summit of Hachimantai, you feel as if you've entered another world. The hiking course through the alpine wetlands around the peak is wonderful for people of all ages and abilities. Beautiful throughout the seasons, autumn transforms the landscape, turning the alpine grasslands into a golden carpet and lending the area an otherworldly atmosphere.

Hachimantai boasts countless spots where autumn colors appear vividly─so many that explaining them all would fill pages! December - February
