Course 1 - Expert Course

Distance 47.1km

Part of this course is where the Hachimantai Hill Climb Race is held every August. You will cycle the Hachimantai Aspite Line that goes through Towada Hachimantai National Park. The dynamic scenery encountered at each curve is like a mountain stage of the Tour de France.

Course 2 Japanese Culture Experience Course

Distance 39.5km

This route crosses Hachimantai. This course mainly covers flat terrain, with a gentle slope to Appi Kogen, the wind of the plateau, the quiet rural atmosphere of the Appi River, and golden rice fields in the autumn, making it a very relaxing course.

Course 3 - Beginner Course

Distance 34.6km

The 2011 All Japan Cycling Championships Road Race Course. Enjoy a stunning view of Mt. Iwate as you cycle through gentle pastures on this Mt. Iwate Panorama Line – the views are just breathtaking. This route doesn’t get much traffic, and is recommended for beginners.

Held Every Year! The Hachimantai Hill Climb Race

The Hachimantai Hill Climb Race is a cycling hill climb event set in Hachimantai. This race is characterized by cycling up through beautiful nature, and there is a brewery near the course where you can enjoy delicious local ingredients with craft beer, so we recommend staying and enjoying with your family.

The race course is set up with a main course of 19.1km and a beginner's course of 8km, and it is one of the highest elevation gain hill climb races in Iwate Prefecture.

Great track! The Hachimantai Aspite Line is in great condition, safe and easy to cycle on. The slope stays consistent so it’s not as difficult as I thought it would be. And there’s a spectacular view waiting for you once you reach the summit area.
