This special area is available only to those who have accepted all the local rules and followed the prescribed entry procedures.

Abei/Shimokura Common tree run area rules

The tree run area, one of the largest in Japan in terms of size and snow quality, is an advanced area with more risk than normal slopes.

Please follow the following rules and concepts to ensure your safety and enjoyment.

  • Do not ski in the "No Skiing Zone" or when the area is "No Skiing".
  • Entry is made at the reception desk of each ski resort, and the area is used by wearing the designated armband.
  • Wear a helmet.
  • No solo entrants or groups of elementary school students or younger are allowed to enter.
  • When entering the area, enter through the designated entrance/gate.

Preparation and Recommendations

  • Even advanced skiers are especially aware that this is an aria with life-threatening dangers due to collisions, buried snow, avalanches, etc.
    The same risk applies to the ski area in general, and safety should be a top priority wherever you ski.
  • When entering an area, pay attention to the movements of other skiers around you and check for safety before entering the area.
  • When merging from the tree run area to the general course, check your surroundings and, if necessary, stop once to avoid danger.
  • Avalanche beacons are recommended.

Area Operations

  • Areas will be marked with "pink tape" and "caution signs. Areas beyond those areas are "No Skiing Areas.
  • Each area has set hours of use, but these hours may be shortened or closed at the discretion of the patrol.
  • In the event of obstacles such as poor visibility, fallen trees, or icy slopes due to snowfall or heavy fog, the area will be closed and the entrance/gate will be closed at the discretion of the patrol.
  • Whether in or out of the area,For rescues, each ski resort will charge a fee as determined by the ski resort.
  • Failure to abide by the rules will result in forfeiture of the lift ticket.
