This service area is located between the Matsuo Hachimantai Interchange and the Nishine Interchange. From here, you can get a great view of Mount Iwate, also known as "Nanbu Katafuji," with its wide base. Mount Iwate resembles Mount Fuji in shape, but one side appears to be cut off, hence its nickname "Nanbu Katafuji."
The food court is well-equipped, allowing you to enjoy noodles and rice bowl dishes at reasonable prices.
The recommended dish at the "Iwateyama Restaurant" on the premises is the "Iwate Tankaku Wagyu Beef Donburi." With its sweet and savory seasoning, it's a very satisfying dish that will make you want to eat more and more rice! It's also nice that it comes with a salad and lightly fried vegetables. In addition, there are plenty of other Iwate specialties such as the "Iwateyama Hormone Grilled Set Meal" and the "Sasuke Pork Miso Grilled Donburi"!
With "Iwateyama Bakery" and "Special Pop-Up Shops" available, take a break at Iwateyama Service Area (outbound) if you're tired from driving. Fill your stomach and rest!
There is a walk-in gate accessible from the main road.
