Geo Farm Hachimantai

A Place of Wellness & Nature

Living in harmony with horses and nature—toward a sustainable, mindful future

At the foot of majestic Mt. Iwate lies Geo Farm Hachimantai, a wellness-focused eco-farm where people and retired racehorses co-create a new, sustainable way of living. Founded in 2015, this social farm promotes a circular lifestyle by integrating horse manure composting, traditional mushroom cultivation, and community-supported agriculture (CSA).

Visitors can reconnect with nature through meaningful experiences—from feeding and caring for horses, to exploring organic farming methods rooted in biodiversity and animal welfare.
The motto here is: “Happy People make Happy Horses, Happy Horses make Happy People.” It's a place where the well-being of both animals and humans grows hand in hand.

Highlights:

  • Equine retreat & second-career support for retired racehorses
  • Organic mushroom cultivation using traditional horse manure compost
  • Development of dog food made from local mushrooms (with Kitasato University)
  • A wellness lifestyle powered by nature’s rhythm and local resources

Feel the healing power of nature, deepen your connection with animals, and rediscover your own balance—
Geo Farm Hachimantai invites you to a slower, kinder way of life.
