Hachimantai Regular Transportation to Make Your Trip Much More Exciting!
The route bus can go around the downtown area near Obuke Station, the traditional hot spring district "Matsukawa Onsen", and even to the top of Mt. Hachimantai.
The route of the bus changes depending on the season.
Among the route buses, the "Hachimantai Shizen Sansaku Bus(Hachimantai Nature Observation Bus)" runs from spring to autumn and starts an extended route to the top of Hachimantai from mid-April. This allows you to easily enjoy various exciting experiences such as Hachimantai Dragon Eye in spring, cherry blossoms, corridors of snow, cycling and hiking in summer, and colorful mountains in autumn.
In winter, you can go to two ski resorts in Hachimantai and three tourist spots in the Matsukawa Onsen district by bus.
The Hachimantai Ski Resort is very popular among powder snow fans who prefer deep powder and non-compacted course options. Buffet dinners and breakfasts featuring local ingredients and Japanese food are also popular.
Appi Kogen Ski Resort is a world-famous ski resort representing Japan.
In the Matsukawa Onsen district, you can enjoy a completely different atmosphere. The deep white snow surrounds you and covers beautiful rocks and trees. In the open-air bath, deer and monkeys may suddenly appear from nearby trees. Winter has fewer bathers than summer, offering a quiet and healing moment. In this area, you can enjoy two major hot springs with different spring qualities, Matsukawa Onsen and Hachimantai Onsenkyo.
