Hinabi Sight-seeing Train comes to Hachimantai

For two days only, JR East’s retro Hinabi sight-seeing train will travel the picturesque Hanawa Line between Morioka in Iwate Prefecture and Odate in Akita Prefecture. This special event train features comfy seats and large windows allowing passengers to fully take in the region’s beautiful rural vistas.

On Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December 2024, the train will depart Morioka at 9:04 a.m., making stops at Arayashinmachi Station in Hachimantai and Kazuno Hanawa Station, before arriving at Odate (大館) at 12:12 p.m. The return journey departs Odate at 2:48 p.m. and arrives back in Morioka at 5:30 p.m., making this the perfect option for a day trip. Or stay the night on route for a relaxing weekend escape!
